- Saturday is Corgi Beach Day at the Huntington Dog Beach. The annual Corgi Dog Beach Day and festival on April 2 started 10 years ago when Kelly and Dan McLemore were trying to find furry friends for their corgi, Mr. Pickles. They created a social media solicit looking for other corgis to hang out at the Huntington Dog Beach for the afternoon. What started as a beach day with 15 corgi lovers became 100 corgis the following year and has grown more every year. On Saturday, more than a thousand corgis will attend the beach day festival, where they will find 28 booths, food trucks, contests, corgi gear and entertainment.
