- Family friendly movies from Universal will be playing in Orange for $1.50 per ticket with free smoothies at Juice It Up for our hero nurses. It's all part of The Summer Movie Clubhouse at Cinemark theaters. It's a fun, low-cost way to escape the summer heat and enjoy your favorite family-friendly movies on the big screen. Movies play at Century Stadium 25 from June 15 through Aug. 3 on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Tickets are $1.50 plus tax (children and adults). Children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult. Movies include "Angry Birds," DreamWorks Animation’s "The Boss Baby: Family Business," "Clifford the Big Red Dog," and more! (OC Register)
- A new Large Mammal Exhibit will be opening on Friday, May 13 at the O.C. Zoo! The opening celebration will be on Friday, May 13, said O.C. Parks in an Instagram post. Talking about the new habitats for the exhibit, Zoo Curator Marcy Crede-Booth said in a sneak video preview that the public will "finally see the beauty of all these habitats" for big cats that needed a home. Also, be sure to stop by the naming booth for two orphaned mountain lion cub sisters that were nurtured back to health and are thriving after being found in OC without their mom. The Large Mammal Exhibit event will be on Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14. (Instagram)
- A shout out to OC's Katrina Foley for the new OC Live Concert Series! Thanks to Orange County Supervisor Katrina Foley, Newport Dunes will be hopping with music this weekend. Foley made the music series a reality through the Arts-Related Grant Relief Program. The Concerts Series runs from May 10-15 at Newport Dunes, and other locations. Tickets are $5 per person (ages 10+) with proceeds going to support Arts Orange County, the official nonprofit local arts agency of the County of Orange. Parking at Newport Dunes is $15. (KTLA)
- New camp openings now available! Orange County (NC) Recreation said plans changed for some of their camp families, which means that there are now a few additional camp enrollments available. Spaces are limited, they said in an Instagram post, and they will fill "first-come, first-served" — so register soon. Swipe for all camp openings by age group here: (Instagram)
