  1. Two of the world’s largest helitankers are ready to help fight wildfires in Southern California. In a recent demonstration at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base, a Boeing CH-47 Chinook helitanker dropped 3,000 gallons of water from the air. The two large helitankers are part of Southern California's regional wildfire Quick Reaction Force. The wildfire risk in Orange County is high due to record temperatures and extremely dry conditions. 2. The Festival of Arts & Pageant of Masters 2022 is at Laguna Beach this summer and runs through early September. The 85-year-old Festival of Arts is "one of the nation’s oldest." This juried art show features paintings, glasswork, ceramics, photography, and more in a "beautiful open gallery." The Festival of Arts also has The Pageant of Masters, a 90-minute performance of different "tableaux vivants" (living pictures). The Pageant is "a recreation of classical and contemporary works of art, with real people posing to look exactly like their counterparts in the original pieces," organizers said on the website.
