Woman Leaves Scene After Fatally Striking OC Pedestrian, Only To Return Later: Police
A woman who fatally struck a pedestrian left the scene of the crash before returning later, police said.
SANTA ANA, CA — Police are investigating possible charges against a woman who fatally struck a man who was crossing the street after she initially left the scene before returning minutes later, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
The crash was reported at around 8:20 p.m. Friday at Fairview and Harvard streets. First responders found the victim, a 32-year-old man, on the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The preliminary investigation revealed the man was struck while walking across Fairview in a crosswalk while traffic was flowing. A woman struck the man, left the scene and returned minutes later and cooperated with the investigation, police said.

Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. They are investigating the incident as a possible hit and run, police said.
