Here are the top stories in Orange County today:

1. A million-dollar home used to be a mansion on the coastline, but it now has an entirely new meaning. Half of the homes in Orange County are now worth at least $1 million, thanks to skyrocketing prices due to the pandemic. For Orange County, that means that a million dollars will buy a three-bedroom, two-bathroom starter home in the inland part of Orange County. Nationally, 8.2 percent of homes, or about 6 million homes, are valued at $1 million. Only years ago, about 3.5 million homes were worth about $1 million. 2. A shout out to Tyvak Nano Satellite Systems, Inc. The Irvine Company was awarded a contract by Lockheed Martin to build 42 satellites for the Pentagon’s Space Development Agency. The satellites will support "global warfighter missions,” according to Tyvak, adding that the company is "very proud" to participate in this important contract in support of U.S. military forces around the world. 3. Trader Joe's Stores in Orange County and across California are recalling crunchy salad. The packaged salads sold at Trader Joe's in California and four other states are being recalled. The manufacturer of its "Crunchy Slaw with Chicken, Crispy Noodles & Peanut Dressing" said that the dressing could contain pieces of small hard plastic.
