- Spring ahead! On Sunday, March 13 at 2 a.m. we officially move the clocks ahead an hour. The springtime change means that sunset will be just after 7 p.m. and sunrise will be about 7:20 a.m. You may be surprised to find out that Daylight Savings time is not adopted everywhere. Voters in California allow lawmakers to formally request a change to permanent Daylight Saving time, or to keep it the way it is, and submit the request to the Federal Government. Arizona does not recognize Daylight Saving Time, but some Tribal lands do. Hawaii and some tropical American Territories do not change the time on their clocks, while Newfoundland, off of Canada, only changes their time by 30 minutes. You can read the full story here: (ABC 10)
- Tanaka Farms, known for its juicy strawberries, is now offering strawberry picking tours. A wagon ride takes visitors around the farm, where they will learn about farming methods and the history of the farm from a knowledgeable tour guide. There is a stop in the fields to pick a vegetable, and finally, the tour ends in a strawberry patch where you can pick and eat strawberries. Everyone on the tour will take home a one-pound basket of strawberries. Active military, veterans, and retired Military personnel are eligible for FREE entry with an ID. You can find more about daily tours and read the full story here: (Orange County Patch)
- Get your Irish on at the Celtic Festival 2022. The festival is Sunday, March 13 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana. You can listen to bagpipes and hear traditional Irish music, catch a performance by Stephen Wilkinson, and watch authentic Celtic dance by the O’Connor Kennedy School of Dance.
