Here are the top stories today in Orange County:

  1. It was hot. The hottest place in the United States on Sunday was Anaheim, California. With temperatures reaching 85 degrees, Anaheim had the highest recorded temperature in the nation breaking a heat record for the city of 84 degrees set on Feb. 6, 2000, according to the National Weather Service.   2. The Super Bowl LVI championship game will definitely sizzle — weather experts say the temperature is expected to reach 88 degrees the day of the game as a February heatwave washes over Southern California. Temperatures in Los Angeles and Southern California will be above average on Super Bowl weekend, according to the National Weather Service. Many places will see temperatures in the 70s and 80s, with hot winds sweeping through the southern half of the state. Wind advisories and high wind warnings are in place through early Monday across southern California, including Los Angeles. Bob Oravec, senior branch forecaster at the U.S. Weather Prediction Center, said some of the warmest spots in the country all week will be in and around Los Angeles, "right through to the Super Bowl.” You can read more about this story here: (OC Register)
  3. Amazon Fresh is hiring! Amazon announced they will soon be hiring 1,500 employees to staff six grocery stores that will soon open in Huntington Beach, Mission Viejo, Westlake Village, La Verne, Moorpark, and Murrieta. The new grocery stores in Huntington Beach, Mission Viejo, Westlake Village, La Verne, Moorpark, and Murrieta will all use "Just Walk Out" technology, where customers find what they would like to buy and cameras record the purchases so there is no need to stop to pay with a cash register.
