1. Tuesday, April 26, is National Pretzel Day, and Wetzel's Pretzels has dubbed it "National Wetzel Day." They are celebrating the day by offering customers a free, hand-crafted Original Pretzel after 3 p.m. at locations nationwide, including Orange County! (Orange County Patch)
2. Here is a little positive Earth Day news! Despite a decline in clean energy jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, clean energy jobs are the biggest job creation segment across America’s energy sector. And there are nearly three times as many workers in clean energy than in the fossil fuel industry. Where can you find a clean energy job? Jobs are expected to grow in wind, solar, energy efficiency and all other clean energy sectors. (OC Register)
3. Surfers are celebrating the return of the original lifeguard tower numbers at Doheny State Beach. After the tower numbers at Dana Point were suddenly changed at the popular surfing beach earlier this year by State Parks officials to make things work more efficiently. Doheny surfer Debbie Simons, who was part of the effort to save the original tower numbers, said, “It’s a feel-good moment here.” (OC Register)
