Suspect Arrested In Fatal Shooting Of Man In Orange County

A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the shooting death of a 45-year-old man at a mobile home park.

SANTA ANA, CA — A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the shooting death of a 45-year-old man at a mobile home park in Santa Ana, police said Sunday.

Authorities said Jose Luis Solis was involved in an argument with Alfonso Jasso, of Santa Ana, which resulted in Jasso allegedly shooting the man and driving to the Santa Ana Police Department to turn himself in, according to a department statement.

Officers dispatched at about 9 p.m. Friday to the 3100 block of West First Street regarding reports of a shooting victim found Solis suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. Paramedics arriving at the location pronounced him dead at the scene.

"Detectives obtained a search warrant to enter the suspect's home and vehicle to recover the firearm and other potential items of evidentiary value," police said. "Detectives believe they have recovered the weapon used in the murder."
