Here are the top stories today in Orange County:

  1. Tax relief in the form of a payment is on the way for millions of California families. On Sunday, Gov. Gavin Newsom announced that California families will receive as much as $1,050 in tax relief payments as part of a $300 billion budget deal. The funds are to help with rising gas prices and inflation. The refund is expected to benefit an estimated 23 million Californians, " including individual filers making as much as $250,000 and joint filers making as much as $500,000," according to an outline received by CalMatters. (Orange County Patch)
  2. If you were driving to San Diego Monday morning, Patch's daily traffic reported that several 1,000-pound cattle had wandered onto the freeway in San Diego stopping traffic! The Patch Traffic report covers everything from Los Angeles to San Diego. (Orange County Patch)
  3. The Disney Parks Around the World vacation was "sold out" before tickets were available to the public. The 75 available spots for the $100,000+ vacation package was purchased during the presale on June 20 and offered to "Adventures by Disney" regulars who travel often with the tour company. The remaining five spots were snapped up by members of Disney's Golden Oak Club, in the luxury single-family residential neighborhood at Walt Disney World. Everyone else is on a waiting list for the next round-the-world Disney Parks trip. The package includes trips to 12 Disney theme parks, including Anaheim, Florida, France, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tokyo, as well as stops at international landmarks, like the Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower and the Egyptian pyramids. The starting price? $109,995 per person. (OC Register)
