Here are the top stories today in Orange County:

  1. It was a close call for a Tesla driver who landed on the rocks at Dana Point Harbor, just a few feet from plunging into the harbor. The driver accidentally hit the gas instead of the brakes, propelling the car onto the rocky embankment near the water’s edge around 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 7. There was no word whether the driver was visiting the harbor, or was from Orange County! You can read the full story here: (OC Register)
  2. Firefighters from the Orange County Fire Department had to keep themselves and residents safe from downed power lines while fighting a residential garage fire. OC firefighters quickly knocked down the blaze in the 12000 block of Maypole Drive in Garden Grove. Firefighters said the garage had "excessive storage". (Facebook)
  3. An Irvine developer bought a 90K sf building in Orange County for $19.3 million. The 90,000-square-foot industrial building in Tustin was sold by an affiliate of Orange County Research Center, which had paid $4.9 million for the property in 2003. Panattoni Development, an Irvine-based global industrial developer, bought the building on 3.6 acres of land at 14351 Myford Road, through a limited liability company with ties to Revantage, a Blackstone-owned lender based in Chicago, the Orange County Business Journal reported. Plans for the site were not revealed and development plans have not been filed with the city. You can read more here: (The Real Deal)
