  1. The owner of a family-owned European gourmet foods shop in Fountain Valley said she will continue to support humanitarian efforts to help Ukraine. Lisa Harvey of European Delights Gourmet Foods said with the war, she's not sure how long her shelves will be stocked with Russian goods, adding that about 30 percent of her stock that came from Russia was candies, dried fish and caviar. The shop also has amazing products from Canada and Alaska they will be focusing on, Harvey added, as the family-owned store adjusts to the new reality. You can read the full story here: (KABC-TV)
  2. In an effort to make Orange green, volunteers planted dozens of new trees on Saturday throughout Grijalva and Yorba parks. The $1.5 million program is to “amplify” California’s urban forests.   3. A small group of Newport Beach animal lovers has been working hard for the past five years to build a permanent animal shelter for Newport Beach. They are now only $200K away from their $3 million goal. The group, Friends of Newport Beach Animal Shelter, recently broke ground on land they purchased during the pandemic on Riverside Drive. “It’s a win for the city and a win for us, because we love animals,” said Friends Board member Robyn Grant.
