2022-2023 Pacifica School District Kindergarten/TK Lottery

Kindergarten

If you reside within the Pacifica School District's boundaries and have a child who will be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2022, your child is eligible to attend kindergarten in fall 2022. Kindergarten Lottery Packets are available at our TK-5 schools (Ortega and Sunset Ridge) and our K-8 schools (Cabrillo, Ocean Shore and Vallemar), as well as the Pacifica School District Office located at 375 Reina Del Mar Avenue. Sibling/Priority lottery cards are due back to the District Office no later than 12 noon on February 1, 2022. New Enrollment Kinder lottery cards are due back to the District Office no later than 4:30pm on February 16, 2022.

Transitional Kindergarten

If reside within the Pacifica School District's boundaries and your child's 5th birthday falls between September 2, 2022 and February 2, 2023, your child qualifies for the transitional kindergarten (TK) program offered at Ortega and Sunset Ridge Schools in fall 2022.

Transitional Kindergarten Lottery Packets are available at Ortega, Sunset Ridge and the Pacifica School District Office located at 375 Reina Del Mar Avenue. TK Lottery cards are due back to the District Office no later than 4:30pm on February 16, 2022.

Parents are encouraged to attend/view our virtual school tours to get a better understanding of each school's program, but it is not mandatory.

If the number of applications exceeds the number of spaces available for any given site, a lottery for the available spaces for that site will be held. If a drawing is necessary, it will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022, at the Pacifica School District. Lottery results will be posted near the front entrance of the District Office by 6 pm on February 18, 2022.
