Application Deadline Nears For Numerous Pacifica Committee Postings

Three Pacifica commissions and committees are looking for new members, and residents have until Friday to apply.

PACIFICA, CA — Pacifica residents interested in serving on three citizen committees have until noon Friday to submit their applications.

The following committees have a total of six vacancies. Click on each of the links for more information.

  1. Beautification Advisory Committee: One vacancy is available for one four-year term expiring March 26. The Beautification Advisory Committee is responsible for developing guidelines and policies for the implementation of the Keep Pacifica Beautiful program; locating sites in need of beautification and working with civic groups to rehabilitate them; implementing the Mayors’ Beautification Awards Program, and more. The committee meets the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
  2. Open Space and Parkland Advisory Committee: Two vacancies are available for four-year terms that will expire May 2026. The Open Space and Parkland Advisory Committee considers issues related to the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and areas operated by the San Mateo County Parks Department. The committee makes recommendations to the City Council on the policies and procedures of the National Park Service, the transfer of ownership of Cattle Hill and the Pedro Point Headlands, and access and operation of the San Mateo County Parks in the City of Pacifica. The committee meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m.
  3. Parks, Beaches and Recreation Commission: Three vacancies are available: two four-year terms expiring May 2026, and one partial term expiring May 2024. The Parks, Beaches & Recreation Commission advises the City Council on the acquisition, development and maintenance of parks, beaches, and other recreational areas. The commission meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m.
