New K9 Joins SMC Police Department

PACIFICA, CA — The Pacifica Police Department have added a new member to their K9 team and he's a really good boy, the PPD announced Thursday.

Heimdall, named after the Norse god, is a 1-year-old German Sherpherd from the Czech Republic.

Officer Dave Evans carefully selected Heimdall after an extensive evaluation process.

"Over the past month, Officer Evans and K9 Heimdall completed a rigorous K9 Patrol School, sharpening their skills in patrol operations, obedience, and detection," police said.

Heimdall will be taken with helping to locate suspects, recover evidence and enhance the safety of the Pacifica community.
