PSD 2024-2025 Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten Enrollment

Kindergarten

If you have a child who will be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2024, your child is eligible to attend Kindergarten in fall 2024. Kindergarten Lottery Packets are available at our TK-5 schools (Ortega and Sunset Ridge) and our K-8 schools (Cabrillo, Ocean Shore and Vallemar (TK-8)), as well as the Pacifica School District Office located at 375 Reina Del Mar Avenue. Sibling/Priority lottery cards are due back to the District Office no later than 12 noon on February 1, 2024. New Kinder lottery cards are due back to the District Office no later than 4:30pm on February 7, 2024.

Transitional Kindergarten

If your child’s 5th birthday falls between September 2, 2024, and June 2, 2025, your child qualifies for the Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program offered at Ortega, Sunset Ridge and Vallemar Schools in fall 2024.

Transitional Kindergarten Lottery Packets are available at Cabrillo, Linda Mar Educational Center (LMEC), Ocean Shore, Ortega, Sunset Ridge, Vallemar and the Pacifica School District Office located at 375 Reina Del Mar Avenue. TK lottery cards are due back to the District Office no later than 4:30pm on February 7, 2024.

Parents are encouraged to view our virtual school tours to get a better understanding of each school’s program, but it is not mandatory.

If the number of applications exceeds the number of spaces available for any given site, a lottery for the available spaces for that site will be held. If a drawing is necessary, it will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at the Pacifica School District. Lottery results will be posted near the front entrance of the District Office and on our website by 6 pm on February 9, 2024.
