Senior Coastsiders Honored As Area's 'Nonprofit Of The Year'
The San Mateo County group received the award for California's 13th Senate District.
SACRAMENTO – Senior Coastsiders was celebrated in the Capitol recently as the Nonprofit of the Year in California’s 13th Senate District.
State Senator Jerry Hill welcomed Senior Coastsiders Executive Director Sandra Winter and Board President Carol Joyce to the Capitol on June 5, where the California Association of Nonprofits held a luncheon honoring the organization from the Peninsula as well as the many others selected throughout California by their local legislators.
Operating since 1977, Senior Coastsiders is dedicated to providing resources, support and opportunities for older adults and adults with disabilities. Based in Half Moon Bay and powered by a robust combination of volunteerism, community partnerships and fundraising, the organization serves individuals 55 and older who live in coastside communities from Montara to Pescadero in San Mateo County.

“For more than 40 years, Senior Coastsiders has been a mainstay for older adults and adults with disabilities,” said Senator Hill, D-San Mateo and Santa Clara Counties. “I’m proud to have selected this community gem as the 13th Senate District’s Nonprofit of the Year for 2019.”
