SMC Man Caught Stealing Gas, Breaking Into Cars At Dealership: Police
Police said they were notified by a security company that the man was committing crimes on private property.
COLMA, CA — Officers arrested a 34-year-old man Wednesday in Colma after a security company reported he was trying to steal gas from a car and attempting to open doors of other vehicles at a car dealership, police said.
At around 12:42 a.m. on Wednesday, Colma Police Department officers said they received a call from a security company that a man was trying to steal gas and break into cars at a Lexus dealership located at 700 Serramonte Blvd.
Officers said when they arrived they saw the man but he fled on foot. After a short pursuit they detained the man, identified as Evans Brandt, 34, of San Jose, police said.

Brandt was arrested and booked into the San Mateo for tampering with a vehicle, resisting a peace officer and being in possession of drug paraphernalia.
