What Pacifica High School Will Your Student Attend Next School Year?
Four high schools within the Jefferson Union High School District will be hosting a series of open house and parental information meetings.
In accordance with procedures mandated by the Board of Trustees, the Jefferson Union High School District continues to maintain a policy of open enrollment. This policy states that students residing within the district boundaries may choose to attend any of the district’s four high schools, providing that the school chosen has not exceeded its maximum capacity.
In the case of maximum capacity, enrollment will first be reserved for students living within the school attendance area. Exceptions will be made only in the case of siblings already enrolled. Maximum capacity was exceeded at Westmoor for the 2013/14 school year.
The Jefferson Union High School District believes strongly that choice is one of the essential ingredients in a successful high school experience.
In keeping with this concept, the four high schools within the Jefferson Union High School District will soon be hosting a series of Open House and parental information meetings, designed to assist parents and guardians in making the right choice of high school for each student.
At these meetings, staff members will describe the curriculum and the programs available at each individual school and will be able to respond to questions and concerns regarding all aspects of each school's total educational program.

We would like to invite all parents, guardians and students considering attending any of the District's high schools to attend any or all of these very important and informational meetings. These meetings will take place at each individual high school site and have been arranged and scheduled as follows:
Terra Nova High School, Monday January 13, 7 p.m., 550-7600

Jefferson High School, Tuesday January 14, 7 p.m., 550-7700
Oceana High School, Wednesday January 15, 7 p.m., 550-7300
Westmoor High School, Thursday January 16, 7 p.m., 550-7400
The Jefferson Union High School District feels that attendance at these meetings is essential in making an informed and appropriate decision regarding high school attendance, and parents, guardians and students are urged to consider attending either one or all of them.
The choice process will continue during the month of January, when you will receive further information regarding the process for selecting your school of choice. Selection forms will be mailed on January 17th, with the selection deadline being Friday, February 7, 2014.
It is our hope that your attendance at any or all of these upcoming informational open house meetings will make the selection process easier for students and their families.
