Woman Who Died In Cliff Plunge Near Devil's Slide Identified In Bay Area
The woman fell only hours after someone was saved from a car hanging over the edge of a nearby cliffside, police said.
SAN MATEO, CA — The coroner's office has released the name of a 37-year-old woman who died Thursday night when she fell off a cliff near Devil's Slide, which is just south of Pacifica.
The San Mateo County Coroner's Office identified the woman as Inna Kurtzeliieva on Friday.
At 7:45 p.m. on Thursday, authorities closed Highway 1 south of Pacifica as emergency services and law enforcement responded to a reported fall from a cliff.

Kurtzeliieva was pronounced dead at the scene and the incident is under investigation, the SMC Sheriff's Office said.
Hours before the reported fall, police said the driver of an overturned Tesla was rescued from their car, which had been teetering on the edge of a cliff. According to police, the driver was extracted to safety through the back window, and the roadway was subsequently reopened.
