LAPD Responds to Loud Boom at Palisades House Party

A party-goer sets off an M-80, and then shortly thereafter, a car alarm and a very disgruntled neighbor.

Los Angeles police responded to a party at 913 Chattanooga Ave. in Pacific Palisades Saturday night after multiple reports of a loud boom.

Marquez Knolls Property Owners Association Vice President Haldis Toppel reported from neighbors that the LAPD received 911 calls and quickly responded to a party at the home that had about 50 teenagers present.

The loud explosion was an M-80 lit by someone at the party, and it even set off a car alarm.

A Los Angeles Fire Department engine also arrived at the intersection of Chattanooga and Akron Street.

One neighbor reported there was an upset adult screaming and yelling in the street, making threats. In light of the Santa Monica shootings, Toppel reminded that threats need to be taken seriously.
