PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — Firefighters stopped forward progress of a brush fire after it burned one acre near the Santa Ynez Reservoir Wednesday morning.

Firefighters responded to the 1400 block of North Palisades Drive at around 9:50 a.m. Wednesday to tackle the fire, which was described as slow moving in heavy brush, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

The fire was driven by steep topography, not wind. Crews stopped forward progress of the fire within an hour, firefighters said.

"The precisely targeted, rapid water drops from LAFD Air Operations combined with the firefighter's aggressive fire attack on the ground held the fire to approximately one acre," the LAFD said. "Due to the steep terrain and the work required to conduct a mop up operation, all resources will remain on scene."

No injuries have been reported.
