Dehydrated Hiker, Unable To Walk, Rescued By Helicopter: LAFD

A dehydrated hiker needed rescuing by helicopter after he became unable to walk on a Palisades trail, according to the LAFD.

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — A dehydrated hiker was rescued by helicopter Saturday after he became unable to walk in Saturday's hot weather, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The LAFD responded to the Temescal Ridge Trail at around 11:40 a.m. to rescue the 55-year-old man, who was near the conclusion of his journey to a remote section of the trail, according to the LAFD.

A paramedic was lowered from a helicopter to assess and stabilize the man, who was hoisted into the helicopter to receive in-flight care and transportation to a local hospital, according to firefighters.
