
1. Movies in the Park returns for the 10th year, sponsored by the Pacific Palisades Women's Club, Gelson's Market and several other community groups. The 2013 line-up looks like this: Aug. 3: Pirates of the Caribbean (PG-13), Aug 10: The Lorax (PG), Aug 17: Freaky Friday (PG), Aug. 24: Willy Wonka (G) and Aug 31: ET (PG). Movies begin at dusk (approximately 8 p.m.) at the Palisades Recreation Center.
2. Speaking of the recreation center, make sure to visit it for all information on camps, events and youth league sign-ups coming up for the fall, as well as visiting its website and following on Twitter.
3. Looking for some peace and aroma therapy? The Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine Temple gardens are open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday 12 to 4:30 p.m.
4. Searching for the next summer fiction, non-fiction or children's book? Head over to the Palisades Branch Library or browse the latest and hottest titles there online.
5. Dr. David Geller's practice at Palisades Pediatrics, located at 910 Via de la Paz, Suite 210, has been bought and will continue under Dr. Rahul Grover.
