Holly Robinson Peete To Be Honored At Palisades Best Buddies Gathering

PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — Actress and disabilities advocate Holly Robinson Peete will be honored at Best Buddies International's annual Mother's Day celebration in the Palisades, with a guest list that includes Cindy Crawford and Kris Jenner.

The 6th Annual Best Buddies’ Celebration of Mothers will be held at a private home in Pacific Palisades on May 13. The gathering is hosted by Best Buddies International, a nonprofit founded by Anthony Kennedy Shriver that focuses on volunteer efforts that create opportunities and friendship for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Peete's son, Rodney Jr., has autism, and the actress has been involved in advocacy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

"Holly personifies the genuine love and resiliency that parents of children with IDD exhibit to ensure their children live meaningful, purpose-driven lives," reads a release from Best Buddies.

“I am incredibly honored to be Best Buddies International’s 'Mother of the Year.' Being a mom of four has truly been a blessing and to receive this acknowledgement in celebration of Mother’s Day is a welcome surprise,” Peete said. “Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working closely with Best Buddies and the work their organization offers supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is so needed. I am looking forward to their upcoming celebration of mothers, and to continue working alongside this outstanding organization.”

The party will include a live musical performance by Olivia Culpo, alongside her mother and brother — the trio include a classically trained cellist, violinist and pianist. They'll perform with Best Buddies Ambassador Marlana VanHoose.

Global Ambassador Cindy Crawford and longtime supporter Lyndie Benson will also be in attendance. Others invited include Kaia Gerber, Kris Jenner, Christian McCaffrey, Courtney Sixx, Garcelle Beauvais, Ashley Greene, Christa Miller and Charlotte Lawrence.

Mothers are an invaluable source of encouragement, and above all, they understand us like no one else can,” Shriver said. “My mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, will always be my hero.
