Natural Gas Leak Reported Near Pacific Palisades School
A natural gas leak was reported Friday afternoon near a Pacific Palisades school.
PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — An underground, high-pressure natural gas line is leaking near a school in the Pacific Palisades Friday afternoon, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The gas leak was reported at 1:12 p.m. at 16821 W. Marquez Ave., near the Marquez Charter Elementary School, at the sidewalk area of the teacher's parking lot, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
No fire or illness was reported, Humphrey said.

Firefighters have cordoned off the immediate area of the leak pending the arrival of SoCalGas crews, Humphrey said. It's unknown what time they will arrive.
Out of an abundance of caution, a number of elementary school students and staff have been moved to another part of the campus, Humphrey said. The exact number was not known.
