Palisades Fire Map: See Fire Perimeter, Evacuation Areas Updated
The mandatory evacuation zone was expanded Friday night to include the Getty Center.
PACIFIC PALISADES, CA — The Santa Ana wind-driven Palisades Fire broke out Tuesday and pushed firefighters to the limit as they tried to slow the advance of a blaze that spread across 21,000-acre wildfire acres by Friday and destroyed or damaged more than 5,000 structures.
The fire was active in the northeast Friday night toward the San Fernando Valley, menacing Mandeville Canyon, Bel Air, Encino and Tarzana.
With the expansion new evacuation centers have been set up at Van Nuys Sherman Oaks Recreation Center at 14201 Huston St. in Sherman Oaks and Lanark Recreation Center at 21816 Lanark St. in Canoga Park.

A new mandatory evacuation order was immediately in effect Friday night from Sunset Boulevard North to the Encino Reservoir, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. This extends from the 405 Freeway West to Mandeville Canyon, and it includes The Getty Center.
By 7:30 p.m. Friday, the evacuation warning zone had been extended to Ventura Boulevard, the 405 Freeway and Mulholland Drive.
