Spots Still Open in YMCA Summer Day Camp

The camp, which runs weeklong sessions for children aged 3 to incoming seventh graders, offers outdoor daily activities.

Parents who are looking for a last-minute summer activity for their children shouldn't worry: there is still time to sign up for the Palisades-Malibu YMCA Summer Day Camp.

"Campers participate in daily activities like sports and games, arts and crafts, hiking, bouncers, cooking and literary enrichments, and archery," said Youth and Family Program Director Ashley Russell in an email. "Weekly activities include pool and beach days, water play, and themed days such as 'super hero day' and 'crazy hair day."

Campers will also have the opportunity to play outdoor laser tag, climb a rock wall and try gymnastics, among other activities.

The summer camp, located at the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Temescal Canyon at the entrance of the Santa Monica Mountains, is open to children from 3 years old to those entering seventh grade.

Children are divided into age-appropriate groups. The program for campers aged 3-5 years is Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon and costs $250 per week.

Programs for all other age groups are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and cost $300 for the entire week and $225 for three days.

There are nine weeklong sessions. The first session begins June 10, and sessions are held weekly. The final session begins Aug. 5.
