
CATHEDRAL CITY, CA — A dozen traffic signals are set to receive hardware upgrades at numerous intersections in Cathedral City, prompting brief delays for motorists until next year.
The project started Monday and was expected to conclude in spring 2026. Hours are from 7 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the following intersections:
-- Gerald Ford Drive and Plumley Road/Avenida Del Sol Road;
-- Ramon Road and Desert Vista Road/Avenida Del Yermo;
-- Ramon Road and Whispering Palms Trail;
-- Ramon Road and Cathedral Canyon Drive/Avenida Maravilla;
-- Vista Chino Drive and Avenida Quintana/Desert Princess Drive;
-- Date Palm Drive and Via Olivera;
-- Dinah Shore Drive and Plumley Road;
-- Landau Boulevard and 30th Avenue;
-- Dinah Shore and Cathedral Canyon drives;
-- Ramon Road and Da Vall Drive;
-- E. Palm Canyon Drive and El Dorado/E. Canyon Plaza, and
-- Date Palm and Gerald Ford drives.
The hardware upgrades to the 12 signals will include an installation of advance dilemma zone detection equipment, left turn phases and pedestrian countdown heads.

"City of Cathedral City and Elecnor Belco Electric Inc. will do our best to minimize inconvenience to residents and businesses," officials said.
