2 Earthquakes Rattle SoCal Desert
The largest registered as a magnitude 3.4, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
SALTON SEA, CA — Two earthquakes centered near the Salton Sea shook the region overnight.
The most recent was reported at 6:10 a.m. Wednesday, about 6 miles southwest of Salton City, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It registered a magnitude 3.4.
A magnitude 2.7 temblor was recorded at 6:46 p.m. Tuesday in the same area, the USGS reported.
