2 Men ID'd In Fatal RivCo Collision Between Semi Truck, Multiple Cars
Two men were publicly identified Friday after they were killed in a major crash.
CATHEDRAL CITY, CA — Two men who were killed in a Cathedral City collision between a big rig and multiple vehicles were identified on Friday.
Miguel Macias, 49, of Santa Ana and Francisco Sicairos Leon, 58, of Desert Hot Springs, were pronounced dead on Thursday.
That morning, a truck tractor-trailer combination vehicle was traveling westbound on I-10, east of Date Palm Drive, when, for reasons still under investigation, the truck veered into eastbound lanes around 6:40 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officer David Torres told Patch.

As the semi moved into the eastbound lanes, it crashed into multiple vehicles, Torres said, adding that the CHP is still investigating how many cars were involved.
While the two men were killed during the incident, several others were injured, Torres said. The conditions of those who were injured were not immediately available.

All eastbound lanes were closed for nearly three hours, Torres said, adding that officers had all eastbound traffic use alternate routes. Two lanes reopened at 9:34 a.m.
