3 Injured As Vehicle Slams Into Tree In Palm Desert

PALM DESERT, CA — Three people were hospitalized after suffering injuries when their vehicle struck a tree in Palm Desert overnight Tuesday.

Shortly after 8:45 p.m., Cal Fire/ Riverside County Fire Department responded to the scene in the 41900 block of Washington Street to find a vehicle had struck a tree and exploded into flames.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the vehicle fully ablaze, a spokesperson for the department said. Three patients were treated at the scene, then taken to a local area hospital for further treatment and evaluation."

The severity of their conditions was not immediately released.

California Highway Patrol, Indio, is investigating the incident.
