COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — As Coachella's signature music festival prepares to welcome thousands to Indio and the surrounding areas, many are turning to air-conditioned Airbnb stays instead of camping — especially considering a sweltering weather forecast.

More than 70 percent of nights booked in the area are for group travel, with many guests opting for poolside properties, scenic views, and easy access to the festival grounds, according to the lodging giant.

The company says Millennials and Gen Z make up the bulk of this year's bookings, and many are traveling from metropolitan cities like Los Angeles, New York and Chicago.

"Additionally, festival-goers are turning their weekends into complete travel adventures, opting for listings with pools, stunning views, and near national parks, enhancing their stays by blending the excitement of the festival with the comfort of a memorable Airbnb experience," Airbnb said.
