71-Year-Old Yucca Valley Man Dies In Violent Assault, Suspect Sought
The suspect(s) has not been identified and remains at large, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

YUCCA VALLEY, CA — A 71-year-old man found dead inside a Yucca Valley home Friday night was a homicide victim, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department confirmed over the weekend.
James Boutwell of Yucca Valley was found at approximately 7 p.m. in the 55500 block of 29 Palms Highway. The grim discovery was made after emergency personnel were summoned to the residence for a medical aid call.
"When they arrived, they located the victim, James Boutwell, inside the home and he was pronounced deceased," according to the sheriff's department.

It was determined that Boutwell was the victim of a violent assault, and the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail assumed the investigation, the department reported.
