Apparent Shooting Leaves Coachella Man Dead

COACHELLA, CA — Homicide detectives are investigating the apparent shooting death over the holiday weekend of a 58-year-old Coachella man.

Shortly before 5:30 a.m. Monday, deputies from the Thermal Sheriff’s Station were called to a report of shots fired at a home in the 85400 block of Valley Road in Coachella. There they found Juan Sanchez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unclear whether Sanchez lived at the residence.

There were no arrests, and information about a possible suspect was not disclosed.
