Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder Office in New Location off Washington Street

The Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder office that used to be in Indio is now at 38-686 El Cerrito Road, off Washington Street and north of Interstate 10, county officials said Monday.

The last day of business for the Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder in Indio was Friday Nov. 22, county spokeswoman Michele Martinez-Barrera said.

The Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder is now in a joint location with the Treasurer-Tax Collector, and it opened Monday Nov. 25, Martinez-Barrera said. The office will be open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays.

"To get to the office from Interstate 10, take the Washington Street exit and go north 0.7 miles, turn left onto Las Montanas Road for 0.2 miles, then take the first left onto Nopales Road," Martinez-Barrera said. "After 0.1 miles, turn left onto Palapas Road and go less than 0.1 and turn left onto El Cerrito Road. The office, at 38-686 El Cerrito Road, is on the right."

Services offered by the County Clerk include marriage licenses and civil ceremonies, fictitious business-name filings, notary public filings, process servicers registration, and notary authentications.

County Recorder services include recording documents related to real property, copies of official records, and copies of birth, death and marriage certificates. Assessor maps and answers to property assessment questions also are available.
