Broadcast Vet Joins KMIR as New GM
Craig Marrs is joining KMIR-KPSE in Palm Desert as its new vice president and general manager.

Broadcast television veteran Craig Marrs was named the new vice president and general manager of KMIR-TV and KPSE-LP in Palm Desert, according to Journal Broadcast Group.
“Craig is the kind of leader we need in the Coachella Valley. He’s passionate about the media business, arrives with a wealth of experience in our business and is focused on great content and customer service,” Jim Prather, executive vice president at Journal Broadcast, said in a news release.
Marrs will start his new post in March, moving from a NBC affiliate in Sherman, Texas, where he has been the market manager there since 2009.

Prior to his current position, Marrs was Vice President and Station Manager of KRON-TV, San Francisco, and founded Northwest Cable News, Seattle.
“I have been a frequent visitor and homeowner in the valley for many years, and I am thrilled to be joining Journal Broadcast Group to work with the amazing team at KMIR in the desert,” Marrs said.

Journal Broadcast Group owns and operates 33 radio stations and 13 television stations in 12 states and is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wis.
