The California Highway Patrol personnel at the Indio Area Office plan to start their annual Christmas toy drive "CHiPs For Kids" on Wednesday in Palm Desert.
An event is planned 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Walgreens at 44840 Monterey Ave., CHP Officer Mike Radford said in a statement.
"This year the CHP is proud to collect toys for needy children here in the Coachella Valley as part of the annual CHiPs for Kids Campaign," Radford said.
"Anyone wishing to donate a new unwrapped toy can visit any of the Walgreens here in the valley, Mathis Brothers in Indio, the Indio CHP Office or the studios for KESQ News Channel 3," Radford said.
The last day to donate toys will be Dec. 20, Radford said. All toys will benefit needy families and children under age 14 here in the Coachella Valley.
