CHP Investigates Three Vehicle Collision Involving Deputy In Palm Desert
The deputy was responding to an emergency call when the crash occurred.

PALM DESERT, CA — A three-vehicle collision reported in Palm Desert involved a Riverside County sheriff's deputy, authorities said Thursday.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, which was reported just around 8:07 a.m. on Wednesday in Palm Desert, California Highway Patrol Officer David Torres told Patch.
The sheriff's patrol vehicle was traveling eastbound on Gerald Ford when he approached the Cook Street intersection, Torres told Patch. The deputy proceeded "when he believed it was safe," before colliding with a Subaru Outback driven by a man, who was the only occupant.

After being hit, the Subaru driver lost control and crashed into a Nissan Rogue, which was also occupied by one man.
The deputy was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center after complaining about pain. The other two drivers were unharmed. The CHP is still investigating the incident
