Domestic Violence Suspect Charged In Indio Court, Held On $1M Bail
The defendant is accused of assault on his partner, using a knife to inflict a "corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition."
INDIO, CA — A 41-year-old man at the center of a domestic violence investigation pleaded not guilty Thursday to assault with a deadly weapon.
The Indio Police Department arrested Jamin Demar Williams on April 21 near Golf Center Parkway and held him at the Robert Presley Detention Center on $1 million bail. He was accused of assault on his partner, using a knife to inflict a "corporal injury resulting in a traumatic condition," according to a complaint filed by Riverside County District Attorney Michael A. Hestrin.
Williams also faces a charge for allegedly doing so while having a prior conviction within seven years.

During Thursday's arraignment, Williams entered the not guilty pleas at the Larson Justice Center in Indio. He has a felony settlement conference scheduled for May 13 and a preliminary hearing on May 15.
