JOSHUA TREE, CA — Patch took a look at two rentals and two affordable desert homes that may have you rethinking spending the night or spending your life in the beauty of Joshua Tree.

Recently, two Joshua Tree Airbnb rentals were identified among Airbnb's most wish-listed homes for 2023. The Joshua Tree "Invisible House" is one of the most impressive properties currently available to rent on Airbnb, according to the short-term rental giant.

This expansive multi-million dollar property borders the Joshua Tree National Park and offers views from the floor-to-ceiling windows that surround the home.

If you want to rent the property, it's $2,500 a night. To rent it by the month, it will set you back just under $13,000. To buy this nearly 5,500-foot glass home, expect to drop around $18 million, according to realtor Aaron Kirman. The home has both form and function, according to the listing that is held by Aaron Kirman and Matt Adamo of AKG | Christie’s International Real Estate.

Tucked into the landscape on a hill overlooking the broad expanse of the desert below, The Invisible House has been dubbed a "modern masterpiece" by Airbnb.

"Designed by film producer Chris Hanley and Frank Gehry collaborator Tomas Osinski, the Invisible House is built to directly connect inhabitants with the environment through a mirrored glass exterior that seamlessly bridges the gap between indoor and outdoor space," according to Kirman, the listing agent.
