Hemet Man Slams Into Multiple Cars, Injures 2: Sheriff

A 70-year-old Hemet man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after he collided with multiple vehicles, authorities say.

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA —A 70-year-old Hemet man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after he collided into multiple vehicles, authorities said. The crash caused minor injuries to two other people in Cathedral City.

Shortly after 1:45 p.m., a crash was reported in the area of Avenida Los Niños and Ramon Road, according to the Cathedral City Police Department.

A suspect identified as Frank Corona of Hemet was driving a Honda CR-V southbound on Avenida Los Niños when he crashed into two parked vehicles. He then continued westbound on Ramon Road, where he collided with a Nissan Quest minivan.

Corona and two minivan occupants were transported to a hospital for minor injuries.

Corona was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio, where he was being held on $50,000 bail for suspicion of DUI causing bodily injury. He was scheduled to appear at the Indio Larson Justice Center on Friday morning to answer one felony charge of DUI with Alcohol causing bodily injuries, as well as misdemeanor DUI, DUI of alcohol above .08 percent.
