I-10 SigAlert Due To Overturned Semi-Truck Near Indio: CHP

All westbound I-10 lanes were shut down due to an overturned semi-truck early Monday in in the eastern portion of Coachella Valley

DESERT CENTER, CA —The I-10 freeway through Desert Center was shut down early Monday due to an overturned semi-truck, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch operators

Shortly after 3:30 a.m., a semi-truck heading westbound on I-10 just west of the Desert Center offramp overturned for unknown reasons. According to CHP dispatch, all lanes were shut down for an estimated six to eight hours and would not fully reopen until around 11 a.m. due to a recovery operation.

The type of cargo inside the overturned semi-truck has not yet been released as of this report.

As of 6:15 a.m., all westbound traffic was detoured to SR-177 Rice Road, to SR-62, or asked to turn back around on eastbound I-10.

No other information was immediately available.
