Incident At Riverside County DA's Office Prompts Standoff In Indio
A suspect was arrested hours later.
INDIO, CA — A standoff that was underway Monday in Indio after a report of vandalism at the Riverside County District Attorney's Office ended in an arrest hours later.
The standoff was reported at around 8:45 a.m. in the 83000 block of Highway 111. The Riverside County District Attorney's Office has a branch located at 82995 Highway 111, Suite 101.
SWAT was at the scene assisting in efforts.

"A witness followed the adult male suspect to a second location, where he continued to vandalize property and then climbed onto the roof of a building, prompting a police standoff," according to an Indio police news release.
Around 2 p.m., several flash-bangs were thrown at the rooftop of the SunLine building, and officers apprehended the suspect, who was evaluated by paramedics at the scene but was not injured. The SunLine Transit Agency administrative and bus facility is located at 83255 Highway 111.

The suspect, whose name was not released, was slated to be booked into Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of vandalism and assault with a deadly weapon, and he also has an active felony warrant, police said.
Highway 111 between Salton Street and Golf Center Parkway was closed during the standoff, but later reopened.
