New Church Sewer Pipes Prompts City Of Indio To Repave Road

INDIO, CA — A pavement repair project on Jefferson Street at Avenue 50 is expected to affect traffic in the area, Indio officials announced Monday.

Recently installed sewer pipes at the Church at the Red Door have required the asphalt roadway above the new trench to be repaved, officials said in a statement.

The traffic signal in the area will be flashing red from 6 a.m. Tuesday to 5 p.m. Wednesday to allow for pavement grind and overlay in a 300- foot stretch.

City officials warned of likely delays at the intersection and urged drivers to use alternate routes, such as Madison Street or Washington Street for north/south travel and Avenue 48 or Avenue 52 for east/west travel.
