Oasis Street In Indio: Expect Delays For Next 2 Months
City officials urged drivers to use alternate routes.

INDIO, CA — Motorists who travel on Oasis Street in Indio could face delays for the next two months thanks to a downtown drainage project that will result in some traffic diversions.
Until Jan. 31, northbound traffic will be diverted onto the southbound side of the roadway between Saidy and Miles avenues, with one lane of traffic open in each direction, according to the city.
The intersection of Oasis Street and Requa Avenue, which has been closed since Nov. 8, will remain shut down until Dec. 16, while the intersection of Oasis Street and Wilson Avenue will be closed intermittently, also until Jan. 31.

Parking along Oasis Street will be restricted during construction, with posted signs indicating the affected areas.
The stretch of Oasis between Bliss and Miles avenues will be fully closed from 8 p.m. through 6 a.m. nightly through Friday.

Crews are working on the seventh phase of a downtown revitalization project that includes "new drains, underground storm pipes, curb extensions, rain gardens and landscaping."
Sidewalk access will remain open for now, but may be restricted or closed later in areas adjacent to contractors' work.
