One Arrested, One At Large In Palm Desert Area Hit-And-Run

Suspects in a hit-and-run collision attempted to flee from deputies in Palm Desert on Thursday.

PALM DESERT, CA — One person was arrested while another suspect is still at large in connection with a hit-and-run in the Coachella Valley on Thursday, authorities told Patch.

At 5:25 p.m., deputies were sent to the area of Bob Hope Drive and Dinah Shore Drive in Rancho Mirage after getting reports about a hit-and-run vehicle crash, according to Riverside County Sheriff's Department Lieutenant Deirdre Vickers.

Deputies found the suspect vehicle in Palm Desert and attempted to pull the car over when both the driver and passenger jumped out and ran from deputies, Vickers said.

While one of the suspects was found and taken into custody, the other wasn't located and remains at large, according to Vickers.

The investigation is ongoing, and no other details were immediately available.
