RivCo Burglary Suspect Arrested With Drugs, Loaded Gun, Police Say

Deputies were called to check on a business potentially being burglarized on Tuesday night.

PALM DESERT, CA — Deputies arrested a Cathedral City man after responding to a call about a burglary happening at a business in Thousand Palms on Tuesday night, authorities said.

When deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station arrived on the 72000 block of Ramon Road just before 9 p.m., they found a suspect at the scene and took him into custody without incident, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The station’s Robbery Burglary Suppression Team assumed the investigation and identified the suspect as Pedro Rueda, 47, of Cathedral City. Deputies said Rueda was arrested on suspicion of burglary and was also found to be in possession of narcotics and a loaded firearm.

He was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center on burglary, weapons and narcotics violations.
