RivCo School Locked Down After Shooting Threat
The school was locked down while two other schools bolstered police presence after a suspect said he was going to shoot up the school.

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA — Cathedral City Elementary School was placed under lockdown on Thursday after campus officials received a threatening phone call.
Officers responded to the school at 2:23 p.m. on 69300 Converse Road, where a caller had reportedly said he would shoot people at the school, according to the Cathedral City Police Department.
"The threat was specific to Cathedral City Elementary School and the suspect stated he was going to shoot at the school," according to a statement from the department's Commander Nate Hanley.

Two other schools nearby were also provided with police protection while authorities investigated the matter.
Meanwhile, police and campus staff worked together to dismiss students to their parents, Hanley said.

While police are still looking into the threat, the department assured that there are "no further specific threats to Cathedral City schools."
