Thousand Palms Resident ID'd In Fatal Moreno Valley Crash

The Riverside County coroner's office Sunday named the 64-year-old man who died in a rollover crash on the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — The Riverside County coroner's office Sunday named the 64-year-old man who died in a rollover crash on the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway.

The crash was reported at 5:44 p.m. Saturday on the eastbound side of the freeway west of Gilman Springs Road in Moreno Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP said an SUV struck the center divider of the 60 Freeway then went across all lanes, went over the side and rolled 200 feet. Witnesses told the CHP the silver or gray BMW SUV hit the center divider then veered all the way to the right and "flew off the freeway."

Jack Morgan of Thousand Palms was pronounced dead in an open field about 215 feet south of the freeway and about 1,000 feet east of Theodore Street, according to the coroner's office.

It was unclear how many people were in the SUV and further details about the crash were unavailable.
